Environment - a model of sustainable viticulture
The grapes used in Quinta D'Amares wines were produced in accordance with the Integrated Sustainable Agriculture Production guidelines, as defined by the International Organization for the Fight Against Biodiversity (OILB/IOBC). The strict compliance with these practices is certified by an independent organization (SATIVA-Control and Certification of Products), recognized by the Portuguese State. Always concerned with environmental issues, in 2005, Quinta D'Amares joined the Packaging Collection and Treatment System (see Ponto Verde), and in 2013 we built a BIOLOGICAL WASTE (Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Treatment Plant) .

SATIVA, understanding that actions that contribute to the preservation of biodiversity are urgent and responsibility for their implementation is the responsibility of all, has decided with the Institute of Nature Conservation and Biodiversity to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to join the initiative "Business & Biodiversity B&B ". This initiative intends to put in the agenda of the business management actions that promote the maintenance of biodiversity in the most diverse fields of action. SATIVA proposes to take advantage of the control and certification actions it carries out with economic operators with agricultural, forestry and / or agri-food activities, to suggest the integration of biodiversity-preserving practices in their activity. Simultaneously, it will promote the integration of biodiversity management and practices that minimize the negative impacts on the referentials with which it works. SATIVA - Desenvolvimento Rural, Lda, a control and certification entity recognized by the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture, certifies that the operator: QUINTA DE AMARES, VINICULTURA, LDA. with a location in the municipality (s) of AMARES has submitted its activities to control and meets the requirements of Decree-Law Nº256 / 2009 and Ordinance No. 131/2005 on the integrated production mode (type 5 certification scheme) to the following product (s): INTEGRATED PRODUCTION GRAPE WINE.
